# Insurance

# 4x4 Rental Insurance

# 4x4 RENTAL INSURANCE

Go Rent offers three insurance options so you can choose the level of cover that best suits your rental.

Please note that insurance applies only to **covered claims** and remains subject to the exclusions, conditions and renter responsibilities contained in our Rental Terms & Conditions.

Certain types of damage, negligence, prohibited driving and vehicle misuse are **not covered under any insurance option, including Premium Cover**. Where an incident is excluded or insurance has been voided, the renter may be responsible for the full repair, replacement, towing, recovery and associated costs.

---

# INSURANCE OPTIONS

## BASIC COVER

**N$230 per day**

**Security Deposit: N$45,000**

Basic Cover provides insurance for qualifying covered claims, subject to the Rental Terms & Conditions, exclusions and applicable security deposit.

---

## EXTENDED COVER

**N$362 per day**

**Security Deposit: N$30,000**

Extended Cover provides a higher level of insurance protection for qualifying covered claims, subject to the Rental Terms & Conditions and exclusions.

---

## PREMIUM COVER

**N$546 per day**

**Zero Excess on Covered Claims**

Premium Cover provides zero excess on claims that fall within the applicable insurance cover.

**Important:** Zero Excess does not mean every type of damage is covered. All insurance exclusions, negligence provisions, speed restrictions, No-Go Area restrictions and other conditions contained in the Rental Terms & Conditions continue to apply.

---

# OPTIONAL WINDSCREEN & TYRE COVER

**N$184 per day**

Optional Windscreen & Tyre Cover provides cover for a maximum of:

- **1 windscreen per rental**
- **1 tyre per rental**

Damage to a second or subsequent tyre is for the renter's account.

**Rims are never covered**, regardless of which insurance option or add-on has been selected.

---

# CAMPING EQUIPMENT DAMAGE / LOSS COVER

**N$103.50 per day**

Optional cover for accidental damage to or loss of Go Rent-provided camping equipment.

Without this cover, damage to or loss of camping equipment remains for the renter's account.

---

# SECURITY DEPOSITS

Where applicable, the required security deposit is pre-authorised or blocked on the renter's credit card.

Applicable deposits may include:

**Basic Cover:** N$45,000
**Extended Cover:** N$30,000
**Fuel & Administration Deposit:** N$7,500
**Remote Collection / Cross-Border Damage Deposit:** N$15,000 where applicable

Additional deposits may be required for certain cross-border destinations, routes or itineraries.

A security deposit does not provide cover for damage or incidents specifically excluded from insurance.

---

# WHAT IS COVERED?

Insurance applies to qualifying covered claims subject to the selected insurance option and the full Rental Terms & Conditions.

Under Go Rent's insurance arrangements, qualifying **two-vehicle collisions where both vehicles are identifiable** may be covered subject to the applicable insurance option and all policy conditions.

Insurance is not fully comprehensive and certain incidents remain excluded regardless of the insurance option selected.

# WINDSCREEN, SIDE WINDOWS & MIRRORS

**Windscreen:** Covered only when optional Windscreen & Tyre Cover has been purchased, limited to one windscreen per rental.

**Side Windows:** Never covered.

**Side Mirrors:** Never covered.

# VEHICLE THEFT

Vehicle theft is covered only when **all four** of the following conditions are met:

- The vehicle was parked securely in a safe location.
- All doors, windows and canopy were locked.
- The original Go Rent vehicle keys remain in the renter's possession.

---

# POLICE REPORT – 24-HOUR RULE

A police report must be obtained within **24 hours** of any accident, theft or incident requiring an insurance claim.

Without a valid police report, an insurance claim cannot be processed and the renter may become responsible for all resulting costs.

---

# SPEEDING – ZERO TOLERANCE

Go Rent vehicles are fitted with GPS tracking equipment which records vehicle speed, location and route information.

Go Rent contractual speed limits apply regardless of higher posted road limits.

## Go Rent Speed Limits

**Town / Built-Up Areas:** 60 km/h
**Gravel Roads:** 80 km/h
**National Tarred Highways:** 110 km/h
**Safari / 8-Seater Vehicles:** 100 km/h
**4x4 High Range – Off-Road:** 60 km/h
**4x4 Low Range – Off-Road:** 10 km/h
**National Parks:** 40 km/h

### Speeding Penalty

**N$1,500 per GPS-detected incident**

There are no warnings.

A single recorded violation of the Go Rent contractual speed limits immediately voids insurance cover for the remainder of the rental.

The renter then becomes personally liable for applicable vehicle damage, including damage that may be unrelated to the speeding violation.

---

# GPS TRACKING

Go Rent vehicles may be fitted with GPS systems recording:

- Speed
- Location
- Route
- Travel history

By renting the vehicle, the renter consents to this monitoring.

GPS information may be used as evidence in relation to:

- Speeding
- No-Go Area entry
- Route violations
- Insurance cancellation

GPS information may also be provided to Go Rent's insurers, law enforcement agencies and courts where appropriate.

Where a breakdown or mechanical failure results from an excluded event, negligence or misuse, the renter is responsible for all applicable recovery, towing and repair costs.

---

These may include:

- Obtain a police report within **24 hours**.
- Follow all instructions provided by Go Rent.

Failure to follow the required accident and claims procedure may affect or invalidate insurance cover.

---

# IMPORTANT

Selecting Premium Cover or any other insurance option does **not** mean that every type of damage is covered.

Insurance exclusions, prohibited vehicle use, negligence provisions, contractual speed limits, No-Go Area restrictions, driver requirements and other conditions continue to apply regardless of the insurance option selected.

Where an incident is excluded from insurance or insurance has been voided, the renter may be responsible for the full:

- Repair cost
- Replacement cost
- Towing cost
- Recovery cost
- Transport cost
- Administration charges
- Other associated expenses

Please read the complete **Go Rent Vehicle Rental Agreement & Terms and Conditions** before collecting your vehicle.
