Simon Turcotte15 April 2025I absolutely loved my rental experience with Go Rent 4x4. It started with the complementary airport pickup. I was picked up by Simon with my rental vehicle. On the drive to the rental shop he started giving me tips on driving in Namibia and advice on the vehicle. Once at the shop I was greeted by the owner Robert. After finishing the paperwork quickly they took me through the equipment provided with the vehicle, how to use it and sent me some videos in case I needed to refer back to them during the trip. Robert asked me for my itinerary and gave me some advice. Thankfully he checked, as the itinerary on my last day was a bit long and I could have missed my flight so I ended up changing my itinerary based on his advice. They gave me their WhatsApp in case I needed help during the trip. The first night we stayed at the Urban Camp nearby as I wanted to test the equipement before leaving town. Everything worked perfectly on the first night and during the whole trip. My daughter and I had a memorable experience in Namibia and that was thanks to Robert and his team who provided great service and a great vehicle. I highly recommend them!Posted on Google

Transfert aéroport a l'arrivée et au départ inclus dans le prix de la réservation du 4x4 avec Simon. Chauffeur très sympathique qui nous a fourni plein d'explications. Véhicule quasiment neuf, avec pneus neuf de très bonne qualité. Les duvets étaient chauds, les oreillers et les matelas étaient très confortables. Les tentes en très bon état. Tout le matériel de cuisine était fourni bouilloire, cafetière, casserole, planche a découper, couteau bien aiguisé, sel poivre, des caisses pour ranger le tout. Des chaises et tables de camping avec un réchaud et cartouches de gaz ainsi que le nécessaire pour le barbecue, une grille, des allumes feu. Des torchons et serviettes de bains sont fournis. Une paire de jumelles grossissement X10 fournie ainsi qu'un gps avec carte sim 18 gb pour le séjour. Des lampes rechargeables pour la nuit. Robert nous a fourni une carte avec pleins d'explications sur le trajet et la Présentation du 4x4 avec tous les équipements. Disponible par téléphone tout le long du voyage. Diogo Guimarães27 March 2026Amazing experience, 100% recommended I've rented a 4×4 Toyota Hilux with a rooftop tent with Go Rent Namibia and my experience was very good. Their cars are new, with everything you need for a smooth camping experience (and I really mean everything). Also, we felt very supported by their team on all steps of our trip (thank you Christina and Jessica!). During our 2-week drive we had a minor issue with 2 broken locks on the back of the car (this was not the company's fault) and their team immediately directed us to a car shop in the vicinity of our location, which fixed the problem in 30 minutes, free of charge. Everything was perfectly organized from the start. We were picked up from the airport and taken to the office where we received a very warm welcome. The car was brand new, and after detailed instructions and explanations we were off. Two weeks without a hitch and we were completely happy with a great car. Robert was available at all times and was willing to drive across the country to help personally in an emergency. We were impressed by the combination of professionalism in a friendly atmosphere with a great team. We can only thank them for the fantastic time and the opportunity to get to know Namibia from this side. When we come back we will definitely rent a car from Robert and his team again. De mensen zijn super vriendelijz he wordt opgehaald en gebracht naar het vliegveld, een wifikastje voor onderweg, alle spullen die je nodig hebt om te kunnen kamperen worden meegegeven. De verzekering tot in de puntjes geregeld. De uitleg bij ontvangst perfect geregeld. De daktent sliep heerlijk en is heel makkelijk in gebruik. De auto was nieuw (20.000 km op de teller). Sam S29 September 2023The only way to see Namibia. First and foremost, Namibia is the most beautiful country I have ever visited. Renting a truck with tents on top is the only way of seeing everything the huge country has to offer whilst remaining flexible in terms of timings (which is helpful). We rented an excellent Nissan truck with two tents on top. The car was very reliable and we never had an issue (we saw lots of people with punctures but due to some high spec tyres which are more puncture resistant and give pressure readings live to the dash this wasn’t a problem for us). The cars are equipped with everything you could ever wish for; large fridge, WiFi, Garmin, cooking equipment, the list goes on). The roof tents are ultra comfortable and spacious. We planned to spend a few nights at lodges but ended up not doing so given how comfortable the tents were. Could not recommend Namibia 4X4 highly enough!Posted on Trustindex

Very useful the fridge, additional blankets, dishes and the necessary for cooking and BBQ, in addition to the tent. We made a 25-day trip and covered over 5,000 km. Everything perfect no problem. Lea Benjamin22 April 2025This review is long overdue. We can’t say enough about the owners and people who are GoRent. They were incredibly accommodating, responsive and helped us navigate some problematic situations on our trip. Before heading out, they spent time with us to review our self-drive plan through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, making valuable suggestions and stayed in touch via WhatsApp. Whatever we needed, they were there. The vehicle we originally rented was a Nissan but when we picked it up it turned out to be a Toyota Hilux which was a plus. The vehicle was almost new and in great condition. It performed beautifully and was extremely capable. This is the vehicle you want for Africa as the roads are often difficult to navigate once not on the main roads. The sand is deep and the roads narrow. The vehicle handled it effortlessly. The only comments for improvement we have is the gear and kitchen and how they are set up for travel was less than ideal and made food storage and prep highly unorganized. There should be additional bins providing valuable space for groceries and dry items. We were also provided with a gas stove that was powered by butane cannisters that were nearly impossible to find outside of Windhoek (every outlet sold regular propane gas bottles). The cannisters lasted a very short period of time. Thankfully we brought our own WindBurner system and found camping gas in the City before leaving and relied on the braai facilities at campsites. The refrigerator was not reliable and stopped working a few times. We managed to fix it each time, but it was extremely frustrating. We discussed these openly with the owners who were aware of some of these issues and are proactively working on better solutions. We are confident they will remedy these shortcomings as they are personally invested in the company and are an amazing group of people. We highly recommend them. For the family of GoRent, and a special thanks to Robert and Christina, if you are ever in Canada, we’d love to see you and thank you for all your help and support on our trip. Markus W14 April 2024Best Car Rental Ever This is how car rental should be! Excellent service. Unfortunately our arrival at Windhoek Airport was delayed for 14 hours. Originally it was planned to go shopping and fill up the car with drinks and snacks. Due to the delay this was no more possible. So Robert from Go Rent Namibia 4x4 did all the shopping for us and parked the car full with drinks and snacks in front of our hotel, so that we could start our trip the next day. However, when you're coming from far away and need to rent a car, it’s always a bit nerve-wracking. You’re not sure about the insurance, the large deposit, etc. The process with GoRent was perfect. When you talk to Robert and Christina, you can tell they have a genuine interest in making everything easy, and straightforward. And much respect for Robert's availability. If there was the slightest issue with the car, we could always contact him. Simon, the driver, provided excellent service in terms of taking us to the bus when we had to continue our journey from Windhoek. Shawn Law15 June 2026I had an excellent experience renting a 4x4 from this company for my 12-day self-drive trip around Namibia. One thing that impressed me right from the start was that they managed to secure a Toyota Hilux 4x4 for us even though we booked only about a month before our trip. Given how popular 4x4 rentals can be in Namibia, especially during peak travel periods, we were very grateful for their help. What really stood out was the level of service. They arranged private transfers from the airport to our accommodation in Windhoek on the first night, from the accommodation to the rental office the next morning, and even from the rental office back to the airport at the end of the trip—all at no additional charge. Having the same driver (shoutout to Simon!) for the transfers made everything seamless and stress-free. During vehicle collection, the team went through the checklist thoroughly and took the time to explain everything in detail, which gave us a lot of confidence before starting the journey as it's our first time driving a 4x4. Another thoughtful touch was that they provided advice on recommended routes and roads to avoid based on current conditions. This local knowledge was extremely helpful and is something we have not experienced with most car rental companies. The vehicle was very well prepared. The tyre pressures were already properly set, and throughout our 12-day journey across Namibia, we had a completely smooth experience without any tyre issues, punctures, or needing to make any adjustments. I also appreciated that there was no requirement to wash the vehicle before returning it. After driving through Namibia's gravel roads and desert landscapes, being able to return the car as-is made the end of the trip much more convenient. Overall, the service was professional, friendly, and genuinely customer-focused. The team went above and beyond to make our Namibia self-drive adventure easy and enjoyable. It started with the complementary airport pickup. I was picked up by Simon with my rental vehicle. On the drive to the rental shop he started giving me tips on driving in Namibia and advice on the vehicle. Once at the shop I was greeted by the owner Robert. After finishing the paperwork quickly they took me through the equipment provided with the vehicle, how to use it and sent me some videos in case I needed to refer back to them during the trip. Robert asked me for my itinerary and gave me some advice. Thankfully he checked, as the itinerary on my last day was a bit long and I could have missed my flight so I ended up changing my itinerary based on his advice. They gave me their WhatsApp in case I needed help during the trip. The first night we stayed at the Urban Camp nearby as I wanted to test the equipement before leaving town. Everything worked perfectly on the first night and during the whole trip. First and foremost, Namibia is the most beautiful country I have ever visited. Renting a truck with tents on top is the only way of seeing everything the huge country has to offer whilst remaining flexible in terms of timings (which is helpful). We rented an excellent Nissan truck with two tents on top. The car was very reliable and we never had an issue (we saw lots of people with punctures but due to some high spec tyres which are more puncture resistant and give pressure readings live to the dash this wasn’t a problem for us). The cars are equipped with everything you could ever wish for; large fridge, WiFi, Garmin, cooking equipment, the list goes on). The roof tents are ultra comfortable and spacious. We planned to spend a few nights at lodges but ended up not doing so given how comfortable the tents were. We can’t say enough about the owners and people who are GoRent. They were incredibly accommodating, responsive and helped us navigate some problematic situations on our trip. Before heading out, they spent time with us to review our self-drive plan through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, making valuable suggestions and stayed in touch via WhatsApp. Whatever we needed, they were there. The vehicle we originally rented was a Nissan but when we picked it up it turned out to be a Toyota Hilux which was a plus. The vehicle was almost new and in great condition. It performed beautifully and was extremely capable. This is the vehicle you want for Africa as the roads are often difficult to navigate once not on the main roads. The sand is deep and the roads narrow. The vehicle handled it effortlessly. The only comments for improvement we have is the gear and kitchen and how they are set up for travel was less than ideal and made food storage and prep highly unorganized. There should be additional bins providing valuable space for groceries and dry items. We were also provided with a gas stove that was powered by butane cannisters that were nearly impossible to find outside of Windhoek (every outlet sold regular propane gas bottles). The cannisters lasted a very short period of time. Thankfully we brought our own WindBurner system and found camping gas in the City before leaving and relied on the braai facilities at campsites. The refrigerator was not reliable and stopped working a few times. We managed to fix it each time, but it was extremely frustrating. We discussed these openly with the owners who were aware of some of these issues and are proactively working on better solutions. We are confident they will remedy these shortcomings as they are personally invested in the company and are an amazing group of people. We highly recommend them. For the family of GoRent, and a special thanks to Robert and Christina, if you are ever in Canada, we’d love to see you and thank you for all your help and support on our trip. We have some great suggestions, and secret stops to share with you if you visit in our country. Unfortunately our arrival at Windhoek Airport was delayed for 14 hours. Originally it was planned to go shopping and fill up the car with drinks and snacks. Due to the delay this was no more possible. So Robert from Go Rent Namibia 4x4 did all the shopping for us and parked the car full with drinks and snacks in front of our hotel, so that we could start our trip the next day. The return of the car was also very chilled and relaxed with a beer at the office. Namibia is an amazing place to drive around, and I would recommend everyone to do it. However, when you're coming from far away and need to rent a car, it’s always a bit nerve-wracking. You’re not sure about the insurance, the large deposit, etc. The process with GoRent was perfect. When you talk to Robert and Christina, you can tell they have a genuine interest in making everything easy, and straightforward. And much respect for Robert's availability. If there was the slightest issue with the car, we could always contact him. Simon, the driver, provided excellent service in terms of taking us to the bus when we had to continue our journey from Windhoek. Since we had a long wait before the bus departure, he drove us to a café so we could have a coffee and then picked us up again. One thing that impressed me right from the start was that they managed to secure a Toyota Hilux 4x4 for us even though we booked only about a month before our trip. Given how popular 4x4 rentals can be in Namibia, especially during peak travel periods, we were very grateful for their help. What really stood out was the level of service. They arranged private transfers from the airport to our accommodation in Windhoek on the first night, from the accommodation to the rental office the next morning, and even from the rental office back to the airport at the end of the trip—all at no additional charge. Having the same driver (shoutout to Simon!) for the transfers made everything seamless and stress-free. During vehicle collection, the team went through the checklist thoroughly and took the time to explain everything in detail, which gave us a lot of confidence before starting the journey as it's our first time driving a 4x4. Another thoughtful touch was that they provided advice on recommended routes and roads to avoid based on current conditions. This local knowledge was extremely helpful and is something we have not experienced with most car rental companies. The vehicle was very well prepared. The tyre pressures were already properly set, and throughout our 12-day journey across Namibia, we had a completely smooth experience without any tyre issues, punctures, or needing to make any adjustments. I also appreciated that there was no requirement to wash the vehicle before returning it. After driving through Namibia's gravel roads and desert landscapes, being able to return the car as-is made the end of the trip much more convenient. Overall, the service was professional, friendly, and genuinely customer-focused. The team went above and beyond to make our Namibia self-drive adventure easy and enjoyable.
